Hi all.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop which is approximately 3 1/2 to 4 years old.
I bought it new and have NEVER had a problem with it (touch wood).
But just recently, sometimes the cooling fan makes a racket, (after waking it up, or on power up)....sort of a grinding sound.
It's not really bad, but I fear it could get worse.
A light tap on the left side of the key board base, usually quietens it down.
Once it's quiet and whilst using the computer, it doesn't become noisy again,
until it's powered down and woken up again.
My question is; Is it a difficult job to replace the fan or clean it?
Also, are the fans expensive?
Thanks.
