Nothing wrong with doing a top swap ecotec L67 conversion if it's done right. In some ways it's better than a stock L67 due to the extra compression but it's not as stout as full L67 bottom end. Tuned safe it should go well enough.

They run so efficiently, well mine does in VY Calais,
I give it a bit of stick now and then, to clean the cobwebs out, but not too much to draw attention.
Apart from that, the Wife drives around as a shopping trolley,
