Can you put any vy dash cluster into a vy executive series 2 at all

Any VY 6 cyl series 2 cluster yes....Then it needs to be set up for the airbags the car is equipped with

You can physically, but you won't have all the features.
I'm not sure if you have to change BCM or if the current one can be activated via tech 2 to use the extra features.

As long as it is from the same motor size and the same series they can be programmed for the airbag side of things.

If you put a series 1 dash in a series 2, the fuel gauge reads in reverse

How do I know....I have a round gauge style in my exective instead of the strip style...Just had to have the airbags adjusted in the clusster to suit the configuation.

The 2 different VY dash styles

Calais style, which I currently have fitted to my executive

The style I removed from my VY, as the LCD display at the bottom went all black....

I did replace the dash with a similar style, which is when I discovered the fuel gauge issue....Got lucky with the fella replacing the cluster, having the calais style that suited my car...He sold it to me for $20...Broke the bank I can tell you

I forgot to mention..The calais dash reads instant fuel usage, average fuel usage along with approximately how much fuel is left.....ie it only goes in 5 litre increments

All this works automatically.....These features aren't available with the standard style dash

I could have had a police style speed reading activated, but I figured I didn't need that extra 5 killawasps, so it was left off, when the dash was installed

Use the mode button. It should move through the other windows (functions).

The calais dash, the mode button scrolls through various functions.....

The exec dash, don't remember too many functions with that....

As far as i'm aware both dashes do it.
Its called engineering mode.
