7HBD identification

Hi, trying to identify a automatic gearbox.
I bought it bolted to a VN 304 motor but never used.
Found a sticker with 7HBD 617HBDY16903761
24202519 stamped just above the pan.
2420251926-1 stamped on the output case.

7 represents the year of manufacture, so 1997. HBD is the code for the 4L60e to suit 304 engine I believe.

Thanks Immortality. I've been told it’s VS series 2, I’ve tried googling the part numbers to confirm this but not having any luck.

Yeah that is a 4l60e from a vs.....have same one from vs stato that donated it's driveline into my vp ute.


Throttle body on engine & dissy plug are quick ways to tell what engine came from unless you go by date code cast into engine block.

Think my auto had 7HBD painted inside bellhousing as well as metal tag on side of housing iirc.
