Ok back into it, cleaned all areas in thermo and water pump. Cleaned all the bolts. Ran the hose through it until all clear. Placed the thermo on put sealant on bolts, that is done. Oh yeah, torqued them t0 20 then to 34. Now the tension for the WATER PUMP, there are eight bolts4 x big and 4x...

When l get to the stage of refilling l will just run water through it for a few days and empty everyday until it clears. A pain in the backside but the only way to clear it out.

So l have bought Permatex Aviation Sealant Liquid. I bought it in preparation that the latest attempt of fitting gasket went the way of the first. So l as we see should of went with my gut instinct, plus should of torqued those bolts. I changed the water pump but did not torque thilose either...

Oh yeah l did not torque them.

I have had the car for four years and never had a problem other than a puncture or two. Yeah l will definitely change the housing, solves all. I have not used a sealant on the gaskets as the advice was not to, how ever it gives the extra layer of protection.Thanks

It may be l need a new thermo casing

Yeah l did but it seems l have sprank a leak.

Could some one advise me on the thermostat gasket. I bought a tridon TTG46 to put on my VY. However they do not seem to line up properly with bolt holes and bleeder hole. Is there another type of gasket l can put on instead of this cardboard cut out rubbish.

Yep thermo is turning on , l do need gas in my air con. I will take it out in a little while and see the readings again. Have a new radiator cap on now.
