2.0 litre VN for auction in Australia!

They're very hard to come by though... I honestly had never known they existed before seeing this thread... Holden also fitted a few VP Commodores with the 2.3 Turbo 4 cylinder from Saab... The engine made more power than the 3.8, but unfortunately they never went into production...

2.0 litre VN for auction in Australia!

This is the first time I've ever heard of a 4 cylinder VN Commodore, and it really doesn't seem right at all... I realise NZ got some oddballs like an RB20 VL, but at least that was a 6 cylinder... How much longer did they put 4 cylinders in Commodores (obviously excluding ZB)?

Looking at buying a 2004 ra rodeo 3.5 petrol 4x2

Not an expert on these cars, but here is a general guide on what to check when buying a used car (there is also a video available, and an off-road vehicle guide on their channel)

I'd test the battery voltage first... If that's all good than follow the advice above

    Forum's quiet

I haven't tbh... Probably because I don't log on and post as much as I once did, though I'm on here occasionally...

Need your opinion/assessment on possible project I'm thinking about ...

Holden did make the Adventra, which can be had with an LS1 V8 and AWD, and they're quite capable with some mods... There's a YouTube channel which takes these cars off-road called "All Terrain Action," and they also have an account on this forum too...

Need your opinion/assessment on possible project I'm thinking about ...

Sorry for your loss. My condolences go to you and your family. As @Fu Manchu said, it's best to put the 308 into the 80's Hilux body, and I reckon you should just keep the VX as a daily, or as a memory of your father... Putting the VX body onto the Hilux is impossible (or very very difficult)...

Yes this is a "whats this for" but im so confused

Yep, and most of them are dead unfortunately, except for Australian Ford Forums which has a similar layout to 2005 Just Commodores...

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Not sure... Mine is a Series 1.5, meaning it has the series 1 aesthetics with the series 2 driveline...

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Oh right okay... Won't be putting any thicker insulation or getting a very thick material so that shouldn't be an issue, just a regular replacement... Will definitely get somebody else to help if I was to attempt the job myself... Thankyou for your help Fu Manchu, and thankyou to everybody who...

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Thanks heaps for the links... Haven't seen the Calais thread in a while so I'll have to have a look for that one... Edit: I've only seen (and commented on) your goodbye thread on the Calais, not the actual build thread

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Since it's an Omega, doesn't the harness only go through the middle? There is only 2 or 3 of pins on the headliner and all lights seem to be working well, though I won't be putting any more... Do you possibly have the links to your build threads? Or were they just in your old VE Calais build...

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Right thanks for the recommendation... I've checked all interior lights and they seem to be working well, and no, the Omega doesn't have any map lights or sun visor lights AFAIK... Only 1 light for the front passengers and 1 for the rear, so my quote should be cheaper...

How long ago did you get your SSV done? Also, how long will it last?
  18. C

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Yep, it seemed a bit steep in my opinion, since it's just an Omega without a sunroof or any fancy reading lights, etc... Heck, it doesn't even have front grab handles at all :D
  19. C

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

Is there a step by step guide on how to do it? I've seen some of your posts in the past saying how the VE's are difficult to do due to the 'Jesus handles' being pop riveted or something... I currently have pins holding up the fabric and have used adhesives on the edges... This is a temporary...

    VE Commodore Sedan-Headliner sagging

My VE Commodore's headliner is sagging, like every Aussie car does  Does anybody have any recommendations of re-upholstery shops in the SE Melbourne area? Would like it to be reasonably priced too... I rang up a re-upholsterer and they quoted about $500... My understanding is that...

VF Evoke wagon 2017 110,000 klm for 17 K. Mad or not ?

Sorry to hear about your mother... Yes, you're correct on used cars being a bit of a gamble, but in my personal opinion, I don't really see the point of upgrading from what you currently have to the same model car, unless your current Evoke is starting to feel worn out and/or has loads of...

VF Evoke wagon 2017 110,000 klm for 17 K. Mad or not ?

I'd consider it, but realise you could be buying somebody else's problems, and you'll have to fit things like trans coolers again... However, an SV6 or Calais is a better buy IMO, as you get more features and the more powerful 3.6 V6... Also fuel economy will probably be similar when towing...

what did you do to your car today?

That's stupid design... Hopefully there's at least a lock out feature which prevents you from selecting gears while moving...

what did you do to your car today?

Yep, my MK2 Ford Focus has the indicator on the left side... It was weird at first but you do get used to it pretty quickly...

    Second hand ZB's

LOL... The driver looked like a middle aged Aussie bloke which was the worst thing because you'd think he'd know better... Maybe he can give me his ZB and I can give him my Camira ;)
  26. C

    Second hand ZB's

The 2.8TT V6 is pretty cool... It's also found in some Saab products and other GM stuff around the world, and some of them were manufactured at Fishermen's Bend as it was a GM High Feature V6...

    Second hand ZB's

Another little thread hijack, but today I saw a white ZB liftback with a huge tacked on bonnet bulge, a WRX like spoiler, wheels and I think stripes, all in black... It looked hideous with these mods :D
  28. C

What did you do to your VR/VS today?

Yeah, this car is quite disgusting inside, and has been hit pretty bad... It also looks like it's been sitting out in the elements since the accident for quite a while, which is evident by the extensive rust spots... The front end is really the only salvageable part body wise, but even the...

Bought a VT - Loud exhaust

Probably best to go back to stock then, especially if it's lowered, got big wheels, etc... Many people hate aftermarket exhausts on V6's as they usually have a loud and horrible note... They're very hard and expensive to make them sound good, with not much power gains (if any)...

Yep, and worth even more than a new Rolls Royce... Though this deal provides great value for both parties...

Holden Prices, are they too high?

The 5L40E paired with a V8 would've failed as soon as it drove off the dealership lot :D

Bought a VT - Loud exhaust

It's probably over the decibel limit, however it shouldn't be too much of an issue provided that it passed roadworthy, and you don't drive like a hoon... Many on this forum despise of V6's with aftermarket exhausts (I'm not a huge fan either tbh) however if you like the aftermarket system, just...

  36. C

Holden Prices, are they too high?

Yep, Commodore prices are waaay too high... A VZ SS really should be a sub $10k car in my opinion, though one with mods like the one you've listed would probably go for $15-20k in my opinion...
