So my car has been sitting for a while (1 - 2 months) waiting for parts to come from overseas. I had the intake manifold off to put the new fittings in and went to start but just kept turning over but didn't fire.
Started checking the obvious first and I have no fuel getting to the injectors...
It's not a Soarer, it's a Celsior. Will update when the model is accepted in category (chose Soarer as its the closest vehicle to it)
4l 1UZ-FE, Tein adjustable suspension, 17" DTM Deizels and 2 x 2.5" dumpy exhausts
Thought I would give an update. A mix of auto trans fluid and acetone scrubbed in with a tooth brush and left overnight. The next day turned it tighter a small bit with an adjustable spanner and then looser and it worked. The fitting came out easy as.
New intake manifold gasket from supercheap...
So I have finally got around to replacing the T fitting. I have got the intake manifold off to make it easier to remove. Its quite rusty as you can see from the other pics and wont budge. I tried to turn it after butting brake fluid and acetone onto it and it started to round the edges. Any...
Spot on mate. Sanded the terminals on the starter terminals and every other contact earthed to it. Put the battery back in and fired up sweet as. Cheers for the help
So I have googled and checked several forums with no luck.
The battery is new, dizzy replaced and all new HT leads
Last week my VL was running well. I got home one evening and took the battery out to put in my other car for some trouble shooting. Issues began when I put the battery back in...
I'm starting to think that this may have just been taped up in the first place. Because the tape would have been so old when I bumped the loom the tape just fell apart and 'hello stray wire'.
I have since driven with it floating and no changes anywhere. Might just tape it back up and forget...
I have recently spent time dealing with a dodgy T fitting at the end of the heater hose. I'm not sure if i bumped this loose or whether it is one of those things that just don't matter. For the life of me I can't find where its supposed to go?!
One end is attached to the thing to the left of...
Good idea. Stop leak wouldn't work so I have put a bit of steel putty over temporarily and that works. Called Nissan and they can get the part in from Japan for $40 + GST. I'll look into the barb fitting solution as well
I found the culprit, pin hole leak on the underside of the fitting. I'll try some of the radiator stop leak stuff but if that doesn't work I'll get it removed. Probably outside what I'm able to do and would rather have a mechanic mess it up than myself. What did it end up costing you to have it...
I was under the impression these were obsolete parts from other posts. I will give Nissan a call and check before I attempt to remove it.
I had another crack at it yesterday with brazing and welding out of the question, I got an equal size piece of copper piece pipe and flared it to fit over...
I have looked through other posts and found similar issues with this fitting but none have quite had the severity of corrosion of the fitting in my VL
This is the T fitting off the heater hose (two hoses run parallel with each other to the fitting).
When I removed the hose trying to find the...
