A sollution to loose rocker cover PCV adaptors.

A common problem with the right angle PCV breather adaptors on the 304 engines, is that they tend to come loose and will potentially fall out, due to only being a tapered fit. I came across this solution perusing a Facebook group and decided to do the modification myself. Two simple M5 grub...

[General] How to make a simple coolant filler adaptor

What you'll need Drill. Old radiator cap. 38mm or 1 1/2 inch hole saw. Or one that suits the size of the bottle you're using. I find the 38mm hole saw best. 1) Cut out the guts of the cap. 2) Remove and keep the rubber seal. 3) Centre the hole saw on the cap and cut the hole. 4) Using a blade...

    O2 sensors

VT 5 litre I'm just wondering why the O2 sensors would set a trouble code, only when driving at highway speed, but not when driving around town. Engine light came on for about 30 seconds, after about 10 minutes at 100k and went off. Has happened twice over the last few days, but has never set a...

Now....it says that the wire from the a/c switch to the bcm, should have +12v when the switch is held in and ign on. When I tested this, I had just over 5v, but when I...

    3.5 bar fuel regulator

Apparently, the VT 5 litre has a 3 bar fuel regulator. My 5 litre, having been modified has been fitted with a 3.5 bar regulator. The 3 and the 3.5bar reg are identical to look at, so it must be off a V8 of some sort. Does anyone know what engine the 3.5 bar reg is off??

    Possible Ignition Module Failure??

97 VT 5 Litre. Been trying to sort out a problem with my engine. To cut to the chase, I've found that when I connect the timing light to the leads on the left bank, there's no light. The right side is ok. It does idle ok and I'm thinking it's a weak spark on that side, that's why the timing...

    VT 304 vacuum

MAP Sensor Wiring on VT 304ci.

Hi all. The engine (304ci) in my VT SS is maffless tuned, so a MAP sensor was installed. I have a DTC set regarding, either the MAP or the wiring. After back probing the sensor, I found there is an intermittent reference signal (centre wire on the plug). The VT 304 PCM's don't have a MAP...

VT 5 litre Choking and Occasional Pop Out The Intake.

Hi all once again. My 5L has developed a small but annoying problem and as some of you would be aware, it's not your every day 304. When I accelerate at normal or at a faster rate off idle, the engine seems to be chocking (similar to a carby engine with the choke out) and will sometimes...

    Timing Lights?

Hi all. I'm wondering if you can use the older style timing lights on engines with electronic ignition. I have heard that they aren't compatible, due to higher voltages produced (or something like that) and you have to use one that specifically made for electronic ignitions. Is this just a...
