I’ve been watching this guys channel since he had like 10,000 subscribers or maybe less. He does good comparisons

Interestingly he mentions bare metal alloy and the products performance on them.

You’ll need to get all the waxes and residues off from polishing.

I was going to give Gyeon Rim another go on the new car we pick up this week.

It will be getting Gyeon everywhere else but I too might give the GtechiqC5 a go on the wheels.

Gtechniq C5 $88 for 30ml.
Gyeon Rim $78 for 30ml.

Not much in it price wise.

Yea Gtechniq is upto 2 years protection which is why I'm leaning towards that product. Been watching a heap of videos on it and on bare alloy there is no dulling or haziness which some do.

Will check that video later on, may not have seen that one.

If you get it let me know your thoughts

Gtechniq C5 has been ordered, awaiting arrival. Over the next week I'll hit each wheel with the buff and polish in preparation for the final ceramic coating.

C5 arrived and purchased iron decontamination, and prep solution from repco which had 30% off last week.

Been doing some reading and it's not the best to apply the ceramic when it's cold, which can lead to hazing.. will end up applying this inside to let cure with a heater to keep temps up.

Need to re-polished them all before I start decontamination, prep and coat.

I too got the C5 for the wheels. On the inside, I won’t be buffing it off. Just apply and leave. The front side I will buff off to a gloss.

I’d never thought to do that until I watched a fairly well known detailer do it. Makes sense because other than the days after you do it, there’s going to be more grot building up there than anywhere. Not buffing it off from the inside of the wheel leaves a maximum thickness coating to protect from brake dust.

Yeap, I'll be doing the same, was the best advice from a few detailing vids. Some good tricks out there
