Hi guys im battilng another project now.

Recently bought a car with knock in the engine and the second there was a lake of oil under the car. Well thats what the seller told me.

Long story short today i wanted to see what is going on. Went under the car cleaned all oil residue Topped with almost 2L of fresh oil then then heard oil dripping on the concrete raced under the car and i found where it was leaking from and i touched and then a piece of the sump came off. And it looked it had an impact from inside.

Now my question to the veterans on here, what the hell is going on?? how did that happened? what came loose? and what to do. please look at the attached photos and let me know your thought. TIA

Once you pull the engine out and pull the sump off, please share what let go and a couple of pics as well would be cool.

You knowingly bought as car with an engine knock and oil under the engine

Hope you bought it cheap enough to be able to replace the engine

PS: if you're lucky there may be lots of engine parts that are serviceable and thus sellable...

drain the oil out and get a little camera in there see if u can make out any issues, that is a strange spot to hit tho from inside or out
the piece that came out looks like its been hit from inside. im just curious what would get to there and cause that much damage/force.

for anything to hit it has to be broken so its either a 7 cyl LS somehow still running(ish) or something real strange got in there and knocked into it
