Blown engine fusabile link

vp v6 ute
VP commodore ute V6 , blows 30 amp engine fusable link, have pulled EFI relay and doesn't blow, thinking there is a short between EFI relay and DFI module any ideas ?

Try disconnecting the fuel pump plug and see if it still blows.

Get a multimeter and check for an earth leak on the red wire from the EFI relay. You can buy a cheap, good enough, multimeter from Bunnings for about $26 if you don't already have one.

30Amps is a lot of current to pass through the DFI wiring,you'd think the wire would melt.

Yes I've got a multimeter,how do I test for earth leakage?

Set it to ohms. Switch the ignition off. Hold the negative wire to an earth point such as a bare bolt. Put the positive wire to terminal 87 (red/orange wire) on the relay. You should get a very high resistance reading- if its only a few ohms you have a short in the red/orange wire, the coil ( I'm only familiar with 304's but probably also similar for V6's), or the ignition module.
