4L60/65 Tap Shift may be possible

Pretty sure he converted from an E40 (VZ HSV) ecu to the E38. They basically got a budget HSV in the 06's, the first ones they got were effectively vy ls1 monaro's.

no. i only need to use the PCS controller on the LS1 engines. the VZ/ve 6lt ecu can talk to the 6l80 natively with some code changes.

Well, i picked up another VZ SS 6Lt today. this one is rego'd still so i'll do conversion on this one as well. I might try using a later 2010 gearbox in this one though. Can use this more road testing until the other one get's panel & paint work finished.

Yeah, i can use the tech2 to change the options, but im curious if there are hidden options that don't show up. I.e in this case having a 6l80e option for trans. if it doesnt have it could we load in a calibration that does. almost like a custom flash.

Kinda back to topic. If your wanting to go down the paddle shift path on the VZ steering wheels. You can re-use the original steering wheel, u just need to use a drill bit to cut the foam away from where the hole is that the threaded bolt goes in that holds the paddles. VY steering wheels do...

Yeah that makes sense, because it's likely changed the ABS broadcast settings it was probably listening for/to the E40. I think it boils down to the difference between a Manual/Auto car is that an auto can still perform an up/down shift, where as the ABS will communicate to tell the auto to...

I use a pwm controlled setup in a few of my cars, doesn't use a pressure sensor for feedback. just uses the map signal to control voltage. I still run a base 60psi on the reg, but the pumps will only run at 9v and then it ramps it up manifold pressure goes up. but the simple switching of the...

yeah, even going back to the E40 code is similar to came afterwards. Biggest difference was processor type. in the ecu there are ton of switches (options), & a there is a value for transmission type, but it's generally noted as just a number for a type or transmission. I'd be curious to know...

There is another forum a few of us go into more in depth detail on this stuff. I'm certainly not going to claim to be the originator of a lot this information. Couple guys posted clues or mentioned something they were looking into & I thought. I wonder if that will help me doing this...

id have to take a look at the binary file of 1 to be 100% certain, but i'd imagine they would be the same if it's the same series/model. Technically the modules transmit on multiple can ID's, but the 1's i mentioned before are specifically used for the "state of health monitoring". On the...

Don't think thats something that Jason's program can do. That'll be the ECU tune & TAC calibration. I know Justin @ Ultimate Wiring Harnesses has made something up for the vz ls1 pedals.

Haven't seen you post this anywhere else yet. Very nice. I might need to touch base about the VZ EBCM programming options soon. ;-)

your abs issue with would also stem from the broadcast address used, looks like in the e40 it's listening on CAN ID 2F9, but the E38 is 2F0. It changes again for the VE & later models. Now while you can probably satisfy the ecu to listen for the ABS data. I'm not sure if the ABS module would be...

I think i know why the oil temp doesnt work. there is more then 1 switch/parameter. There is the 1 that hpt/efilive show that gives u the option for calculated, or sensor based, but there is another that switches between gearbox & engine oil temp, then there is another table for the sensor...

i thought about the ebcm issue a bit more, highly likely the dash has no care in the world since it's only on the UART data network. So will just be the pim being setup as having the 5l40. With any luck there is similar adjustment options in the ebcm programming to make it happy again. I do know...
