I had a chance to see the ECOmmodore at the paralympics in 2000, it was an awesome looking car, from memory it had the front 3/4 of a VT and from the c pillar back it was the (as yet unreleased) Monaro.

For electric motors you wont need to find one that revs that high, You will have all sorts of trouble with transmission and couplings. There are specific motors for ev conversions around the 100KW mark.

wow, this is a blast from the past!
Since I posted this I have helped tow people to the side of the road. Once some guy's car died uphill on a busy intersection so we towed him around the corner.
And when my poor VN was in it's dying stages someone gave me a lift home to get some tools...
I have a VX SII and the only problem I have had is the the fuel gauge sender unit was sticking, telling me I have 1/4 a tank of fuel when it was dry. Apparently this is a common fault. Otherwise the car has been fine.

I dislocated my shoulder at the fairly weak end of the spectrum. I didn't go in for surgery but had a lot of physio. It was a few years ago now but every now and then I have to go to physio to get the knots in the muscle massaged out.

My VX SII Acclaim has/had a feature when you stop the engine and open the door the headlights will turn off. However, in the past few days (not exactly sure when) it has seemed to stop working, now when I leave the car the lights are still on. I guess the fault lies in the guts...
