Come on Losh, there’s not that many people in Tassie!
And they are all related so don’t forget about the family discounts :p:p:p

So I have had 16m of soil spread across the back yard. I was probably 6m short of doing the whole backyard, but finances only allowed for two trucks at $450 a truck. I have seeded it with Munns tall fescue. I tried Google but nothing really comes up about about how long the seed will take to sprout. I planted it Saturday morning and have kept it wet, also used Seasol with wetting agent. Our temps at the moment are around 20deg - 22deg, with 12deg - 15deg overnight.
Question is does anyone know how long before I should start to see the seed sprouting? I'm getting gravel washing through and want to hire a roller to try and push it back down before the seed sprouts. Hoping I can hire one after work tomorrow and roll it, then roll it again a few days but I don't want to break the new grass stems. Hoping someone like @Fu Manchu might be able to have something to say on this.

I just sewed a small slope behind my retaining wall back of the shed slab about 4 weeks ago here in Northland NZ (about level with Sydney, NSW). Pretty humid here though, took about 4 days to see good sprouts all over. After 7 days it was well up. I was watering twice a day for the first week, morning and night, just enough so that the soil stayed damp and never dried out. Then just at night the second week (when it didn't rain). I've mowed it twice now at 50mm, and will do it again this week. The greenkeepers secret is, if you need to water established lawn, don't flood the soil and always do it at dusk so the roots can absorb the moisture and send it to the leaf cells to fatten up over night.

It looked like this last Monday before its 2nd mow.

5-10 days for Ryes and Fescues. Yates can advise further via their app. (Yates own Munns)

Just stick with the Seasol.
Yeah, give it a roll if you want. Don’t fuss too much.
I’d focus on molasses in the hose on Seasol container. ⅓ molasses and then the rest hot water. Connect to the hose and apply once a week until it’s really going. Then once a fortnight. Then once a month. That stuff will make your garden sht unicorns.Water in after a bit if you can.

Where can you buy molasses? The seasol is expensive. One $20 concentrate only just covers.

I need to push in the rocks as each window across the back of the house is tempered double glazed and takes months to have one made, and cost well over $1000ea. Already shot a rock through a sliding door at the old rental. That cost me over $500, as it was single glaze. and it took 8 weeks to get fixed. With windows now taking 5-6 months to be made, last thing I want is to shoot a rock through one. Too many to pick up as the entire block is covered in gravelly sand. Many years ago the sea would have been where our house is now. They call this spot Gravelly Beach because dig down below the surface 150mm and all you get is a gravel sand mix, much like sand and metal concrete mix.

Farm/agricultural supply places. It’s commonly used with live stock. Cheap as.

Ooo what I would give to have gravelly cement in the sand.
Perth sands are deep and the second oldest soil on the surface.
