Nah much worse..I got the car with tonne of good parts just not finished like it should have been & engine was built 10+ years ago.

Rigorous testing broke some parts getting it reliable :D plus a few late night tows home...best part was sitting in Sydney peak hour traffic with bushpig motor upsetting people with all that noise,

The most expensive of all my 304/355 engines is also the only one to have leaking rear main seal & noisey crane gold rockers...time to step it up next rear & yeah big fan of drag challenge type of cars where drag it & can drive home or go for cruises.

Hello Everyone
I regularly come and visit JC forums and check out the rides but have never joined you guys officially. Well ive just joined the club and would like to show and tell you guys about my ride and what im doing with it.
The car is a 1995 VR SS S2 factory manual and ive owned it for about 10 years and had my fair share of up's and downs with the old girl (previous owners had neglected her but she was still in amazing condition and i picked her up cheap). So over the years ive replaced alot of things and added some goodies but nothing crazy..
Well i went bit crazy and bought a 383 stroker kit from COME Racing and there Twin throttle body EFI manifold in search for extra horses as i will be taking the car to some events and cruises as well as strip. I still need more $ for some more goodies before i get the rebuild done but just thought i'd share as im super excited for this build...
What the car has at the moment is:
Mace CAI pod filter
Excedy heavy duty clutch
Genie headers
3 inch full stainless steel exhaust going through 3inch hurricane muffler (sounds angry)
Crane Hydraulic flat tappet 276 cam (upgrading the cam to suit 383)
lifters, retainers
valve springs

other than that everything is standard

future upgrades:
Diff - 3.45
Cam - larger cam to suit 383
ported heads
383 stroker kit (obtained)
Twin Throttle body manifold (obtained)
maybe wheels when i get some more $
Gearbox is T5 and is in good nick but dont think at all it will hold up to the extra horses (would like some more info on this if anyone can help out).
Clear coat is fading in couple of area's so intime a repaint will be in order.
There are other things but this is all im sharing atm, anyway enough yip yap from me.. ill throw up some pics.
Sick name bro and sick car. Can’t wait to see the work being done... love watching builds..

I hit valve bounce at 5500 in my carby 4 cyl ute daily driving it. Why anyone would want to drive below 5k is beyond me.

I love good solid torque.
Some days I could drive to work and not go over 2000rpm and that includes the odd sneaky quick merge. But it can still rev to 6000+ if required.

On another note, you recommend Horsepower Engineering, yet when I visited them a year ago they were closed with Pete working up the road. Have they reopened?
Honestly StrokedLyfe, if you are in NSW, maybe find someone within an hour or so of you that understands the requirements of such a build.

P. P. S
Compression is king!
And yes alloy heads on a holden V8 broaden the 'power band' in my opinion.

Sometimes It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I didn't realise HPE was closed.

please don't take this the wrong way but this isn't no "backyard job"

I was meaning:
Shane advised Tony Knight (adelaide) or Horsepower engineering (brisbane). But you are in neither of those states so you should find an equally high end holden V8 builder within a reasonable area from home.
I was certainly not suggesting a "back yard" job.
Is RAMS heads in Sydney into GMH V8? I have heard good things of there head work. Are they closer to you?
Someone in your area may be able to recommend. (heck, I ain't even in your country)

Hey All
Thought I'd give you guys abit of an update. Unfortunately some health problems in my family have taken a turn for the worst and I've had to put things on hold for now. I will still try and post but my attention is focused on my family right now...
